While going through some papers a few months ago for the purpose of cleaning up my office, I came across a printout of something from years ago. On a plain sheet of computer paper, printed with a plain inkjet printer, no graphics, just text. I can’t remember who gave it to me or were it came from, but the message is a powerful one. Doing some research I found that someone who lived in the 6^th century, by the name of  Lao Tzu, may have said it. But I found God saying it before that in Proverbs 23:7.

This is what was written on the paper…..

• WATCH YOUR THOUGHTS…THEY BECOME WORDS

• WATCH YOUR WORDS…THEY BECOME ACTIONS

• WATCH YOUR ACTIONS…THEY BECOME HABITS

• WATCH YOUR HABITS…THEY BECOME CHARACTER

• WATCH YOUR CHARACTER…IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY

I once heard that race car drivers must keep their eyes on where they intend to go, as the car follows their eyes.  Those of us who sew and cut fabric know that when cutting to stay straight we must keep our eyes on where the fabric cut is to end, not the scissors or we’ll cut crooked.

Could it be, that our destiny is DIY (do it yourself) ?

Basically, DIY means that, instead of hiring a professional to do a particular task — or, instead of buying goods from a store or an artisan — you’re choosing to do that task or create those products yourself with no direct help from an expert. That doesn’t mean you can’t turn to resources for help — if you use a YouTube tutorial, or a book or blog post to find directions or get your project on the right track, it still counts as doing it yourself. DIY is really about you seeking out the knowledge and developing the skills you need to do something …..
